ICD Announces Partnership with University of Phoenix The University of Phoenix and ICD have teamed up to provide partnership benefits to each ICD Participant ranging in a number of benefits from discounts, to Prior Learning Credits, and accessibility. ICD participants are eligible to save 10% on the cost of tuition for any associate’s, bachelors, master’s and doctoral degrees, certificates and individual courses at University of Phoenix. Many training courses have been evaluated by University of Phoenix and may qualify for college credit toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), students may be eligible to receive up to 15 credits toward an associate’s degree and up to 30 credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Now Forming New Electrical Series Class CDL License ProgramIntro to Protective Relays The Intro to Protective Relays Course introduces the student to the various types of relays and their operating characteristics. This would include plunger, hinge, disk, cup, and solid state relays. The course will also review various types of relay protection including over current, directional, distance, pilot wire, phase comparison and differential relays. 4 three hour sessions. Dates TBD. Contact a coordinator for details. Continuing Programs U.S. Steel/USW Pre Learner Program Per our 2008 Labor agreement and in an effort to
facilitate testing to enter the Mechanical or Electrical maintenance
training program, U.S. Steel and the United Steelworkers have chosen an
online standardized Pre-Learner Maintenance Training Program to provide
employees with the opportunity to acquire the necessary skills and
knowledge to test at a higher level when entering into the Maintenance
Training Program.
This course is a combination of self-study and hands-on training offered through All State Careers. Those interested in taking this course will meet individually with a representative from our educational provider. Information on obtaining a Class 'A" CDL permit, locations to get the required D.O.T. Driver Physical and Drug Screen, and the self-study material will be available at that time.
